Trasteros Ya!

In this mural I had the opportunity to bring another talented artist’s vision to life. Based on an idea provided by business owner Danny, I measured and rendered a 3-dimensional space on the garage door of the newly constructed storage unit in the heart of Sabinillas. More than just an artistic endeavor, this piece doubled as a bold, large-scale marketing statement, visible to the public 24/7. The immense slatted surface presented an exciting challenge, required demanding precision and the use of varied mediums, and an innovative approach to maintain artistic clarity and accurate proportions. Given free artistic license in the finer details, I couldn’t resist sneaking in a few hidden surprises.

Susi Bar

Part of the vibrant Paseo Maritimo in Sabinillas on the Costa del Sol, this mural breathes life into the sea-front restaurant, Susi Bar. Painted in Spring 2021, it serves as both an homage and an artistic evolution of the space. A silhouette of Susi, the beloved dog after whom the bar is named, is affectionately tucked beneath the chalkboard Menu del Día at the entry, for a warm greeting worth a smile. The piece combines abstract shapes with dynamic depth, offering a playful yet thoughtful interpretation of the local landscape. Wine glasses, delicately integrated into the design, pay tribute to the municipality’s rich wine heritage, blending color, culture, and creativity into one stunning scene.

*Sadly, this mural was removed during the renovations of the Sabinillas Paseo Maritimo in 2023.

Moondogs

Inspired by both the teachings of the Samurai and the freedom of nomadic living, this mural at Moondog’s Coffee Shop in Galashiels brings together two distinct personal passions. A van on the inner wall of this Scottish Borders coffee shop was already in existence so it’s design was adapted to resemble the 1982 Chevy Van that served as a US-based home on wheels. This classic vehicle transformed into a personal reflection of my journey, both in life and on the road. The overall mural design unfolded organically, with Samurai philosophy and van life acting as the centrifugal force for my creative flow. Café owners Craig and Emma encouraged play with my signature abstract forms along with elements of pop art which guided the mural’s energy as it spiraled out from the samurai center like the widening lens of a camera.

*Unfortunately for the community of Galashiels, Scotland Moondog’s moved, so this mural is no longer viewable.
